Again?  This has happened before with a previous receiver?  And is this the dvr or actually only a receiver?  And if it's plugged into a power strip try plugging into the wall instead.

Just out of curiosity try rebooting the gateway (pull plug for 15 secs. and let it fully reboot) and after it completes the dvr (pull plug for 15 secs.).

It is a Motorola VIP1200 - I believe it is a receiver. This is the second one I have had. First one went through same thing and had to change - this one I have restarted multiple times since issue came up yesterday morning. Will try your suggestion to reboot Gateway - will let you know - thanks!!

Maybe try some of the steps shown in How to Troubleshoot your DVR/Receivers

By any chance did the red X have a number following it?

May have to call tech support (800-288-2020).

Could be a simple connectivity problem.  To confirm, login to your AT&T gateway and go to the "Device / Device List" page.  See if the TV receiver's MAC address shows up in the list and has been assigned an IP address.

Are you using just the AT&T supplied equipment? Or are you also using your own network equipment (router) behind the AT&T gateway?
