Remote not working, no buttons or indication lights are working
Accidentally dropped remote in tub of water. Retrieved it immediately and dried it off. Could not get the remote to respond. Let it air dry over night and still no red or green indicator lights working, no buttons working. I replaced the batteries, now I get bright RED light but nothing else so I take out the batteries and place them back in, now get bright GREEN light but nothing else, no buttoms work. Cannot turn TV off, cannot change volume or channel. I like Dr. Pol but not for 3 days straight! TV is a Samsung with no visible buttons for power/channels and without a working remote I can't do anything. Is is also the remote for the main control box for U_Verse - Help!

Here's a link to an AT&T page where you can order a replacement.

Is that the only option? Is there no place I can hit reset and have it work like before? I was hoping for a quick reset button - oh well.

Electronic devices not designed with water resistance in mind normally do not fair well when submerged. If you have thoroughly dried the device and let it set for days after that and you're still having issues, then I think the need for a replacement likely.

There is an old wives tale where if you let it soak in a sealed bag full of rice, the rice will soak up the moisture...but if the electronics are ruined, so is the device.
You can always call 800-288-2020 and ask for technical support. Let them know you've had the remote a really long time and it just stopped working. You replaced the batteries and nothing.
I've never had to pay for a replacement remote.
The remote there looks like an older one. This could be one sent to you *or* it could be just that they didn't update the image. The newest remotes have a ton of buttons that light up.

Rice will help absorb moisture, but that only helps if damage hasn't already been done.
I sent the customer to the store because the damage is accidental (submerged in water) not manufacturing flaw (buttons quit working on their own).
