If you are returning U-verse equipment, then all you need is the 9-digit account number and the equipment to be returned (along with any power cords or power supplies). You do not need to pack it, the store will do that for you. Be sure to take it to a The UPS Store or FedEx Office, only these have the computer system necessary to check in the equipment and give you a receipt. Hold on to that receipt like a winning lottery ticket for at least 6 months, or until you're absolutely sure AT&T hasn't fouled this one up.
To take a deeper look into this situation for the returning equipment and savings, we'd need to move this conversation into a DM.
I am sending you a private message (PM) to help in this matter. Please look out for a chat notification towards the top right corner of your page next to the bell icon and reply to my message with your specific account details.
Looking forward to connecting with you, thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
Don't just return it. You must call and have them remove it from your account. THEN you return it. If you just return it without cancelling, they will keep billing you the additional receiver fee each month.
ATT is telling me they never received or even have record I requested to return four receivers. I did so in April/May. I, of course, cannot find the slip from the UPS store. Any suggestions? This happened to me once before in 2016.

Will I save $15 a month by returning one of the two pieces of equipment?

I haven't used it for a long time, so I'll return it, but if the bill doesn't change, I won't do anything.
Thanks.

Seems like after it happened in 2016, you would have kept better track of that receipt. Don't have any suggestion for you.

It took about more than 30 minutes, but talked three customer service representatives responded.
The third person I spoke to was a U-Verse engineer who was happy to get a deal to make our internet faster and cheaper.
