S30 remote - How to turn off either the TV of the sound bar individually

I have LG TV and Vizio sound bar and want to find out how to turn off either the TV of the sound bar individually. Right now when I press the power button both come on or go off together. The issue I have is when the TV goes off by the TV timer the sound bar stays on and when I press the power button on the uverse remote the TV comes on and the sound bar goes off then I have to use either the TV or sound bar remote to get them both synced up (both on or both off) to use the uverse remote again.
