Service outage
Notice the number of people complaining their service goes out regularly. U Verse wants you to believe it's something to do with the equipment in your house, and Jeffery echoes this, says it's humidity or weak signal, or whatever. Ar my house Uverse goes off every night at exactly 2:01 am, sometimes for a minute, sometimes off and on for hours. But always at the same time. So unless they sell cables that get humid at exactly 2:01 am, or some signal device that has a built in shut off timer, the problem is clearly that At & T changes to a cheaper signal at some point--cheaper for them--and it stops working. You'll notice that, no matter how many people ask this question, no one from At & T ever posts an actual reply; they all want you to contact them individually, so they can pretend the problem is some device in your home, and not have to admit it's actually AT & T changing the signal that causes it. Tney will cheerfully sell you an all-new set of devices--they beat me out of another $50 this way--but it has no effect on the problem. The solutionprobably lies in having a smart lawyer file a (Edited per community guidelines).

First off....this is a customer-to-customer message board with no (or minimal) participation from AT&T.
Next....what $50 equipment? I'm confused.
Number three: Who is Jeffery?

When I called tech support to find out why my service went off each night at 2:01 am they insisted I buy a new receiver, which cost me $50 and changed nothing. And Jeffery is someone who posted on the original thread I was posting to--where several other people complained their service went off at the same time every night--who said the problem was probably excess humidity on cables. That seems unlikely, that they would take on excess humidity at exactly the same time every night.

I've deleted a duplicate post. If you don't have anything new to post, don't repeat yourself. No one here knows, or probably cares, who "Jeffery" is. There is no $50 charge for a replacement U-verse Receiver. If you have a faulty receiver, they replace it for free. If you want to get a new Wireless U-verse TV Receiver, then for that they do charge a $49 free.
There are many, many different reasons why different customers have similar problems. Some disconnects are due to bugs in Gateway firmware (gateway reboots 24 hours after power on). Some are due to factors such as power, RFI, line issues (such as humidity causing a short). Some are Wi-Fi issues that happen when a neighbor turns on their Baby Monitor.

Well, do any of those reasons explain why my service goes out at exactly 2:01 am each night? That's what I'm looking for.

I am not at your house. I cannot tell you why your house has an issue at 2:01 am. It could be any one of these or something else entirely.
