Slow Response Uverse DVR and Remote - Do I have the latest equipment? Or is it really this slow?

I have brand new Giga speed service with U-Verse TV. 

 

My equipment is: 

Modem: Pace 5268AC

DVR: VIP 1200

Remote: S30-S1A

 

I think quality of the equipment has taken a step backwards, as here are some issues.

1)  Help! Slow response rate to everything.  

1a ) Changing channels, keying in names of programs etc.  It is to the point of just being painful.  I have tried a universal remote as well and have the same problem.

1b) Slow response with login and changing setting in modem.  I can live with this.. but it just makes everything odd in that I click...wait a few seconds and than screen goes to the next page.

 

2) There is a delay with Hue Lights switches.  I did not have this problem before...now my hue switch takes time to react.

 

3) My wifi calling on my ATT phone does not work very well.  

 

4) I took my old modem an Asus AC5300 and set it as an a wifi access point.  My ATT modem did not like this at all ...my Asus was constantly loosing internet even thou it was hardwired via Cat7 wire to the ATT modem.   

 

So ATT paid the money for the fastest gigabite service, but it seems like the equipment (particularly the DVR) is old technology.
