Substantial rehab project

I'm renovating an apartment building that has been vacant for a number of years. There is an existing att line coming into building and then splitting out to all the apartments. I would like to know how I go about verifying the line is still active or in working condition? Or if this line needs upgraded?

Hopefully this is in the right forum if not feel free to move.

Thanks,

Kevin

You really do have a complicated question. Your OP includes the in building wiring. Your second post does not.

Physically the overhead line should be of no concern unless you want it removed because it is in the way. Normally it would be owned by att & erminate in a comm room. Wires to individual apts would be owned by the apt?

If it was used to provide POTS service (red/green/black/yellow) , it is still good for POTS. But, you probably want to provide data which should be cat5. What about COAX for TV?

You can talk to other companies, but you need your own expert to advise you so you can make a good decision.
