Universe TV 8 error

I now get an 8 error with a box with an red X in it.  I have tried turning off and unplugging for 10 second several times, even had it unplugged overnight.  I also tried resetting it as mentioned on the internet.  I believe I need it reset there??

Hi

 

Getting a red x and a # 8 on the tv screen means that there may be a possible hardware problem. If rebooting the receiver or non-destructive disaster recovery (when you see 1 gear then 2 gears with a progress bar on the tv screen) has been done then a receiver replacement would be your best bet.

@sherryangelo   Unluckily Red X 8 is an unknown error, MS did not know.  Swapping the receiver could have the same issue.  Contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature below, by Need Help?

Send them a Private Message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse service Red X 8 problems.

 

Include your name, account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.

Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply, possibly by email instead. They can do more than any phone rep and stick w/it till it's done. Good luck 😉
