Using Amazon Fire TV Cube (2018) with Cisco ISB7000 Cable Box
I just got a Fire TV Cube and it connects great with my Samsung TV but it won’t connect to my AT&T U-verse Cisco ISB7000 cable box. Has anyone else had any issues connecting these two products? It says on Amazon’s Fire TV page that U-verse boxes are supported with voice command functionality.

Hello again @choppers07
Is the receiver (cable box) added in Equipment Control settings? If you haven't yet, check out Amazon's troubleshooting steps for this device.

Hi @choppers07
We'll do our best to help! What happens when you try to connect your receiver to the cube? What error messages do you see?

Hi there. Thanks for the follow up. I am not using a receiver. I only have the Samsung TV, the Fire TV Cube and my cable box. I can get the Cube to connect with the Samsung to change inputs but I can’t get the Cube to even turn on the Cisco cable box or change channels.

The phrase "RECEIVER' was referring to the Uverse box.

Thanks to you and the earlier poster for clarifying receiver. I did try to add equipment —> cable box via Amazon’s setup instructions but midway through the set up each time the cable box would fail the change channels test. I also tried to go through the manual testing process including identifying the box manufacturer (Cisco) and the repeated acknowledgment that the individual channel change tests had failed one by one. I then went through Amazon’s troubleshooting guide and it still did not help. If there is something else I should be doing that I missed please let me know. Thank you.

I have a Samsung smart tv, and the amazon fire tv cube. Both fairly new. My tv provider is ATT Uverse. In "settings" on the fire cube "equipment control" submenu there is no listing for ATT Uverse. I used Direct TV as my tv provider and followed the steps to set up that as my cable box. So, now I have Alexa voice control of my tv but it functions unreliably. It powers the tv on and off but will turn off the cable box "blue" light sometimes so you must use the ATT remote to power back the cable box. Asking Alexa to tune to "fox news" on 1210 will send it to channel 380. Crazy stuff like that. Is there uverse receiver that is 100% compatible with the Fire TV Cube?

I have a Fire Cube TV and it allowed me to set up AT&T U-verse as a provider. DIRECTV has different channel numbers from U-verse, so telling it you have DIRECTV will give you the issues you're experiencing. I'm surprised that the DIRECTV setting works at all.
I can have it change channels, but that's about the only useful functionality I get. Notably any time I tell it to power it on or off it says it's "not responding."

I am convinced that there are just too many cable boxes and too many tv providers for even Amazon to get their stuff to work with every one. I like the "voice control" concept and hate to loose it. Are their any other options?
