U-verse remote & Sony receiver question
Hi, recently got AT&T U-verse & have successfully programmed it to control all my devices (Sony HTSS360 5.1 channel Home Theater System, Sony BDP-S360 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player). So, right now the U-verse remote successfully turns on each component, controls the volume through the receiver, & controls the BD player. One thing remains: Can the U-verse remote switch the modes on the Sony receiver (satellite, BD, etc)? I'm still having to use the Sony remote to do this function (to toggle between modes). I'm just happy to have gotten THIS far. If this is the worst I have to deal with then - I'll take it. Any comments/advice is welcome!

@stayhandsome73 Probably not, only button that can scroll would be the TV/Video button, by pushes of the button. This might just be dedicated to the TV, but you could try it when the other device is pushed at the top.

@stayhandsome73 - As mibrnsurg says the TV/video button is a logical choice, but discovery is not accomplished by being logical. I have seen this function done in a number of different ways. Also, there is not necessarily a relationship between the U-verse remote button label and the response in the Sony.
If I were in your position, I would press the AUX button & then every button on the remote just to see what happens.
Another thought is that such a sweet setup cries out for a sweet remote. The Logitech Harmony Smart Control is such a sweet remote. If you can come up with a couple of more things that you would like to do, you will think of three more as you set it up and use it. Read details in this thread & post if you have any questions - https://forums.att.com/t5/Using-your-U-verse-TV-Remote/Logitech-Harmony-Smart-Control-Remote/m-p/402...

The 'TV/Video' button on the U-verse remote wasn't able to switch the modes (satellite, BD, etc.) on the Sony receiver but - I programmed everything else just fine (U-verse remote successfully turns on each component, controls the volume through the receiver, & controls the BD player) using these helpful forums. As mibrnsurg said, seems the 'TV/Video' button on U-verse remote is dedicated to the TV. I can deal w/having to switch the modes on the Sony receiver w/the Sony remote though. No biggie.
Off topic: I noticed that whatever one person in the household records on their DVR - appears on every other DVR in the household. Not too jazzed about that - everyone sees what the other is recording & it reduces recording space. We just got rid of Brighthouse cable (I live in Central FL) & although U-verse is superior - atleast you were able to record your own shows on the BH DVR's & not infringe on anyone else's recording space. I am pleased w/the many On Demand movies however on U-verse.
Thanks for the replies. Very helpful & you guys solved my problem!
