U-verse standby mode

Recently, my U-verse has started going into standby mode at what seems to be 4 hours when it's always been 8. I'm getting tired of switching to antenna to keep my sound on continuously when I pay for cable. I turn my display off when away but I need the sound on continuously and that's not negotiable for me on the TV (I'm not getting a radio). How do I change this option back to at least 8 hours? As much as I hate Xfinity, the power saving mode is something I can control and they've sent me some great 2-year packages. If I can't switch this option, I'll have to go back.

I think it's there at all so that the receivers can get an Energy Star rating.  Whatever it currently is, be it 4 or 8, there is no way to change it.

Out of curiosity, is this to keep a pet "company" when you're away?  And what's the aversion to using a radio (discriminating pet)? Radios are even built into alarm clocks these days which you can get for under $10.  And over this you are willing to switch carriers?  Hmm, ok. Man Surprised

@eirutherfo  And in addition, do not expect any changes or enhancements to U-verse hardware or its functionality.
