Uverse TV Loss of Signal
Screen shows "signal lost". List of actions to take includes hold pwr button for 10 seconds to reboot set top box. Works for a while, maybe a day. Happens on multiple TV's. initial installer ran a signal test from each room and said we didn't seem to need optional "booster" units. I would guess signal loss between set top box and Uverse router (the small one , just for tv service. ). By the way, to reply with just a link to a generic troubleshooting video is not helpful. seems like a " your on your own , figure it out" approach to customer service.

We would be happy to help you resolve these freezing issues @Ginger72727272!
Although you have had a technician out for this already but it was not resolved, we may need another look at it to ensure it is not an issue with equipment or installation.
Let us know if these steps helped resolve the issue,
Jessika, AT&T Community Specialist

Hello, I'm interpreting your setup there as using wireless settop boxes with a WAP (wireless access point) connected to the ATT residential gateway? I'm also agreeing with your assessment about what the actual message means. There is a distance limit and varies with the amount barriers the signal needs to pass through. Anything you can do to improve the positioning of the hardware will help. Hardwired connections are always preferred. There is no booster box or such that can be used to extend the range.
I'll also add that even with a proper setup, the Uverse hardware will still periodically reset itself or will require a reboot, and especially when the firmware on the gateway is updated several times a year. And despite what the atthelp message said, I'd still put any of this hardware on battery backup for safety and reliability.

When I try to watch live programming on U-Verse I get ~10 seconds of a program then the screen freezes. If I change channels, the same thing happens. If I don't change channels I get a screen telling me that my U-Verse signal has been lost and that I can try rebooting the Gateway and the DVR Receiver. I've done this multiple times as well as the "non-disaster recovery test" I can view some of my DVR recordings, but not others. Ideas?

Have you called 800-288-2020?
If it's a wireless receiver, try moving it closer to your WAP. Also make sure your WAP and gateway are as far apart as possible.

These symptoms are likely going to be self inflicted wounds by user misconfiguration of the setup. Uverse uses an uncommon protocol for a home network and as such is not tolerant of having equipment inserted into the cabling path. This is about the level of help given without sharing more details.

I concur with gr8sho, this appears to be a classic case of a change in home network topology causing unexpected (by the subscriber) and undesirable results.

@Sleeepdog I feel your pain. The same thing is happening to me. I usually have to power cycle the box about once a week, but now I've rebooted everything in the house, WAP, box, TV, everything, and I still get the exact behavior you describe. Of course, no changes to network. I think ATT just isn't up to snuff.

@Bitter_Clinger , if rebooting your equipment fixes your issue, then it has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

I've had this happen before, but a reboot of the router or the DVR box usually took care of it.
Yesterday astronomers said Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) may cause some Geomagnetic storms
and affect earth's electrical and communications systems during the day yesterday and today.

I suppose it's possible AT&T lines and equipment may be affected, but my PC and laptop browsers are doing fine.
On my TV, I can pull up the GUIDE and Recordings, but no live TV.
So, local services are good but live channels from their network are not getting
through.
Seems to point to outside my apartment....
