So only two nights, well ok, two early mornings. All I can suggest is see if this continues into the weekend.
Here's my theory for this:
The reason I suggest waiting is because I've experienced some outages late at night over the years because sometimes I believe ATT chooses that time to do maintenance on the "back end", i.e., their own equipment. That could include the computer the dvr "talks to" at the back end. Admittedly I haven't seen it in quite some time, and in my case it was a lot earlier (11PM-2AM, I'm a night owl but 5AM is a bit much). It might be a function of which part of the country you are in.
If it is maintenance maybe it takes a few nights/early mornings to do whatever they are doing. Hence my suggestion is to wait a few more days to see if this problem continues. I doubt they will be doing anything on the weekend.
I have seen both issues, planned construction and planned maintenance. But also real troubles that occur at the same time. Planned maintenance would never take that long. It would be very unusual for lines or circuits to be down that long. I would check with my neighbors and see if they are having trouble. (If they hare awake at that hr or can see resets). The more people that are involved the more likely it involves higher level circuits, and components like low speed cards, high speed cards, shelves and even construction related stuff. If others are having trouble and they focus only on your line, it will not be resolved for a long long time.

Is this something new?
Is it really every night?
Both tv and internet?
Does the gateway show any red lights and/or is it rebooting multiple times?
Is the gateway plugged into a UPS?

its been the last two nights and yes it was everything bot the modem had all green lights. TV would say uverse temporarily unavailable
