im not normally the type to go on a rant, but this is the second night this week (FINALE WEEK!!!) that I've "lost signal." Seriously, AT&T?!?!? 😡 Grrrrr!
I would start by unplugging all boxes from the power. Make sure you're not recording anything. Plug your RG "modem" back in and then wait for the lights to go solid. Plug the DVR back in and wait for it to return to normal. Plug the various other set-top boxes back in and wait for them to go normal.
As you plug everything back in, make sure all connections are as tight as possible.
If still having issues, call tech support. They may need to send a repairman. Let them.
@baseballisback another thing to check is the connections to and from the STB (Wall - STB - TV) as well as the connection from the wall to the RG and make sure those are all tight.
Thank you @baseballisback and @oufanindallas. After trying all these options, I eventually had to call tech support and someone came out to fix the issue. He replaced the modem.
Please switch to Dish or DirecTV and then tell us how many outages you get on a weekly basis.
There's more to it than just what may seem obvious. Quality of wiring, connections, equipment at customer end, upstream equipment, etc.
If satellites had multiple outages per week, there must be a lot of angry customers at bars and restaurants, especially on Sunday afternoons from September to December..
I'm on the phone with ATT as I type. I'm so frustrated I can't see straight. I pay waaaaaaaay too much to be having allllll these freaking issues! I've had wireless receivers for about 2 years now. The first year was ok but now ATT wireless receivers have gone to spit! I've had the wireless receivers replaced, the remotes replaced, the modem replaced, the access point (I call it the wps box) replaced. The technician says the wiring is fine. But nothing stops the wireless receivers from freezing, skipping and/or losing signal and it is not the weather. When I get the receivers replaced they may act right for 4 weeks but then I'm back to resetting them every week, every 3 days and then eventually every other day many times a day. It has become overwhelming. I would be watching the news and next thing I know I'm on the blue screen of frustration, telling me the signal has been lost. I hold down the power button and I get the black screen of frustration. I go push the wps button for 10 secs come back and push the ok button on my wireless receiver and pray it works. Often times it doesn't and I have to unplug the wireless receiver. Often times that doesn't work so I unplug the wireless receiver and the wps box. If that doesn't work I unplug the wireless receiver the wps box and the modem. And when that doesn't work I'm calling ATT. I can't watch my recordings or anything on demand on the wireless receivers because it ALWAYS skips multiple times during the movie/recording and then freeze altogether, eventually the movie/recording just shuts off and says it can't play the movie/recording at this time. I'm always forced to go into the family room where the WIRED DVR is to watch any of my recordings or anything on demand. The WIRED DVR is THE ONLY RECEIVER that doesn't freeze or skip it NEVER goes out unless of course I have to reset the modem because of those stupid wireless receivers. In fact I've had the same WIRED DVR from day one. So I figured, since I never have and probably never will need a wireless receiver I'd go back to the WIRED RECEIVERS and maybe then I'd get my $230 a month worth. If not, bye bye ATT!
Once upon a time there were three bears. They were getting ready to eat breakfast. The papa bear said "my porridge is too hot!" The baby bear said "my porridge is too cold!" And the mama bear said "Gripe, gripe, gripe! And I haven't even put it on the table yet!"
Seems like all anyone besides the ACE posters does here is gripe! I'm happen to love U-Verse and have few problems with it!
SportsFan Thanks so much for your childish little 3 little bears mock up. You know what's funny? When, and I do mean WHEN, you start having more than just a few problems with ATT let's see if you have the same contemptuous attitude. And just so there is no confusion...I happen to love U-Verse as well, when it's functioning properly.

Is your WAP connected to the RG? If yes, try moving the WAP somewhere else, it may improve the wireless reception. If no, connect the WAP to the RG. The wireless boxes can be hardwired to the RG (mine is). If you are able to, try hardwiring them to the RG. Be aware that if you ask ATT to replace the wireless receivers with wired ones they will probably charge you to do it. $99 to come to the house and $54 per wired cable they would run. It would be cheaper to run the cat5 cable yourself if you can.
Hello browndk. Thanks for your response. I have no idea what an RG is please tell me. And ATT assured me I would only be charged if my wiring was faulty, which it wasn't the last time a technician was here about 4 weeks ago.
I had issues with wireless reception in my house. No one was ever able to find the problem so I just hard wired everyting and haven't had a problem since. It may not be AT&T but some other outside interference. Also hard wire is more stable.

RG is the modem/router given to you to use by ATT. Your Computer and DVR are connected to it to get service.

Satellite service is always going down during a heavy rain or cloud cover in Florida.
