Who is really going to help me on damaging my yard and garden while AT & T did cable work?
For more than two months I was going back and forth with AT & T staffs and their departments and on hold on phone listening to their music on phone while on hold for, sometimes more than 60 minutes and so. At & T Work in my yard 2 months ago trying to update their system to underground cable system. They came and posted their flags of different colors as gas line, water line etc.. Then their crew came and dug my yard 4 different places and tried to put grass seeds and hay straws etc., but what they really made me upset that they dug my landscaping around my mail box, where I had my Zereberas(Daisies) flower plants, total of 12 plants, which cost $4.98(at Home Depot or Lowe's) and one Goura plants bought from HT last year. When I realized that there are some people working in my yard and found out that they are from AT & T, I asked the gentle man(there are group of people) who is the only person who was speaking English, I asked him to speak to his Boss and asked him to replace my plants because that's too many they have pulled from my yard. I also gave him the tags that came out from the flower plants, so his Boss can see it. I waited few days and didn't hear anything. Then I called AT & T customer service, after 60 minutes on phone, while my cell phone battery was almost going to die, a nice lady came to the phone and took a detailed message and said she will send it to their Damaged claim Department. Two months already has passed, nothing has happened. I called today again, taking my days off, hoping that I'll take care of my issues, and went thru the same dilemma, customer service to customer service, department to department, holding the phone and listening to the music for hours. Finally I was ended up in LALA LAND. Ans thought to forgot about my plants because my peace of my mind is more important than playing this nasty game with AT & T. Now it's my turn to ask question to AT & T, what would you do if I don't pay you for two months? You will disconnect my line, right, so easy, right? Then why it's not easy for me to have my plants replaced, because I'm not powerful like your company? If your CEO really cares for this AT & T, I want him to see through about his company and how as a customer I feel about about AT & T. It's a shame.

I understand as plants can be costly. But you take your chances if you place plants on turf you don’t have exclusive right to. What you might do after the yard is fixed, is check your easement, and not plant in either the utility easement or the road easement. Your town hall has your plot plan.
I get the feeling At&t isn’t going to pay extra for plants that should not be there in the first place.

I think you have misunderstood what an EASEMENT is. You do not have exclusive use of a few feet from the road and the section where utilities are trenched in. Since most mailboxes are just a few feet from the road, you don’t have any expectation of exclusive use of that property. And if your box is that close to the utility easement, it probably should be relocated too.

I'm guessing that the mailbox was on the easement but until you contact your local taxing authority you have no way of knowing. So before you get too upset you need to find that out.

Did you call your local taxing authority to see WHERE the easement lies?

And yet you planted plants on an easement. Google it. And check with your tax assessor for where your easements are.
there is a utility easement along the road, and utilities trenched to the house. Also along each side of your property is a building easement, possible other easement types are draining, wetlands and right of way.
