Why don't I get a full-screen picture on most channels?

Recently moved tv set from one room (and set-top box) to another room and set-top box.  Now, I do not get a full-screen picture on most channels.  In fact, picture size varies for different channels.  Same thing happens when I play recordings from DVR--picture size varies.

The only "variables" you need to "play with" are the dvr/receiver's screen resolution settings and the tv's own screen resolution (aspect ratio) and its own zoom.

On the dvr/receiver press menu -> options -> system -> tv screen resolution.  Probably want to select 1080i and follow the instructions to complete the setting.  When you have the picture back up press the zoom button on the remote and probably want to choose "normal".

For your tv you will need to read it's user manual info on zoom and screen resolution on how to set them.

To clarify....  I should have said that the tv I moved to another room was a newer wide-screen and the replaced tv set was an old CRT 27".   So, I went from 4:3 aspect ratio (old set) to 16:9 new set.  I did not move the set-top boxes.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,  I'll try that as soon as I get a chance.

Sorry to say it didn't work.  Guess I'll have to call Uverse support.
