Will A30 RF Remote Control Other "Remote" Devices Via the USB Dongles IR Retransmission?

@TommyBa - Yes - the A30 only sends STB commands by RF and relegates all other devices to the IR on the remote only.

Like other U-verse remotes, it is not a true universal remote. It is intended for u-verse use & the RF is kind of weak.

If the standard u-verse remotes satisfy your needs you want an IR extender. There are three types -

Optical input lense to optical fiber to output lense (passive)

Electrical -wired - optical receiver  to wire to optical transmitter(s) (requires power)

Electrical RF - Receiver/RF transmitter to  RF  to RF receiver/optical Transmitter (requires power)

If you happen to be thinking of a new TV, there are TVs that have the wired IR extender built -in. This is a great solution that does seem to work with u-verse.

Any of these may or may not work with U-verse. Someone posted one that they liked & I think

someone posted that the very inexpensive monoprice unit worked. search the forum.

If you think you may ever go for more than one STB/TV at the same location you need something that allows unique control of multiple instances of the same device. If you use IR to control two STBs, they both will respond to one button press (same for two idendical TVs).

The TV problem is easy to solve - get different TVs (but, some people find that out too late)

You cannot get STBs with different IR. You need an RF box.

Such a device is a Logitech Harmony Smart Control.

The remote is RF to a hub that blasts the room for TVs & one STB & two addressable, wired mini-blasters that can uniquely control two hidden STBs. (I have that setup)
