Wireless TV Receiver drops signal every day
The wireless receiver in my office (room directly above the DVR) loses it's connection to the WAP daily. The WAP literally sits next to the DVR on the same shelf - can't get any closer. I have pressed the WPS button on the WAP for 10 seconds and then the OK button on the receiver and get "Gateway/Access Point not found or connection error". I then press the power button on the receiver for ten seconds and it tells me to again press the WPS on the WAP. This is a vicious cycle with no resolution. I have unplugged unplugged the DVR and that will sometimes restore the connection but seriously that is not answer to this problem. The wireless receiver should have a stable connection. I even have a booster that is hard wires (via ethernet) in my son's bedroom about 30 ft away and that doesn't stabilize the connection. What is the problem? If I can't have a trustworthy connection I would prefer to have the receiver hardwired via coax.

The booster is for internet only, not tv. The only thing that matters is small wireless access point (seperate from the gateway). The DVR is not generally wireless. usually only the other set top box's are wireless. How many tv's do you have?

We have 5 TVs and all but the one in the office are fine. The connected to the DVR on the main floor is obviously ok. The one in the basement and the two others on the 2nd floor are ok. It's only the one in the office.

The office one is not the only wireless receiver the master bedroom is wireless is located about 15 ft from the office receiver. The master bdrm receiver does not have this issue. These units were installed a few years ago and worked fine. They may drop from time to time but the office one is dropping everyday and is having a difficult time reconnecting.

I'm curious what model WAP and wireless stb's you have? I having been dealing with a similar issue. unplugging the WAP and plugging it back in fixes the problem, but obviously that's a temporary solution. You might just need a new wireless stb, the only way to get one is to call the horrible 1800-att-2020 number and talk to the philippines for a few hours. I'd also try switching the office box with the the bedroom box. In my case switching the boxes didn't fix it, somehow the one bad room is always the issue. And this is after box rooms working fine for years. My suspicion is at&t pushed some sort of update that is causing issues.

AT&T tech came and replaced my receiver to P/N 4040836 and WAP. Things are better but I'm not sure that is a true resolution. I'll have to wait and see.

A quick Google search says that part number is the ac adapter for a model# isb 7005 . Is that the model receiver they gave you? What receiver did you have before?
What model wap did they give you? The choices are ven 401, ven 501, or vap2500?
