Wondering when my community will recieve service

In late January,  my community had ATT come out placing lines in our neighborhood. We are in March and I was wondering how long will the process would take.

Look for 12 months or so before any service arrives, if it ever does.

Here at my VRAD it took 14 months from when they replaced the copper trunk lines w/fibre optic to when the VRAD was active.  This was in metro Detroit, they did work all winter rewiring everything in the new crossbox and VRAD. 😉

You will know it is close when contractor door to door reps start canvassing the neighborhood.

I also live in Lanier Springs, and am wondering if we might be able to get a better answer than "you will know it's close when we get around to telling you?"

I understand the contractor represents a certain point in the time frame, but it would be nice to know the time frame as a whole. When can I expect to see this mysterious contractor? A month? Two months? A year?

In all honesty I am tired of getting the "uhhh....I don’t know..." from AT&T. I find it hard to believe that a company that big can be disorganized to the point of not having some sort of timeline, even a rough one.

Some of us have been waiting upwards of 8 years to get internet service, and were told "I don’t know anything" all the way until trucks just started showing up last December/January with crews burying conduit.  I doubt they just up and decided that week to come to our neighborhood and dig holes at random. If I had to guess I would say it had probably been in the works for months, if not years. However, none of us residents deserved the courtesy to be told "we will be burying stuff in December." Instead we just woke up one day to signs saying "We will be digging this week, sorry for the inconvenience."

Now it is the same thing with this "contractor" person. He isn’t going to just wake up one morning and say "Huh, you know what? It's a lovely Tuesday, I think I might go canvass Lanier Springs."

I know you may not have the ability/authority to give us the answer we want. However, I hope you can understand what we are asking for, and point us in the direction of a person who does have the ability/authority to tell us what is going on. Thanks
