4k Streaming

How do you get 4k streaming to work using the optional box?

For the apps? B/c that is the only 4k content. There isn't any 4k content on live tv etc.

That's interesting, because yesterday I spent 45 minutes on the phone with tech support trying to get a live channel to stream in 4k and after failing to do so the tech determined my box was defective and ordered a replacement.  Why would she do that if there were no 4k streams available?

P.S. During our session I asked numerous times if there was a known 4k stream I could use to test the box and got no answer.

Directv streams 720 and 1080. Maybe that tech thought you were trying to use Netflix, Amazon prime, or another app to watch 4k on the box.

No, she specifically asked me to use live streaming channels.

That was Netflix specific. And it's not the 4k causing the issue...it was HDR. At least it was around 7 months ago. AND that was before the box had the HDR on/off toggle. 4k/HDR works for Amazon prime on the box. I just watched Upload and Mrs Maisel in 4k/HDR

Netflix doesn't have that issue anymore. Hasn't since the on/off HDR toggle was added. I can watch 4k programming on Netflix with my Dtv stream box.

Your comment was the Dtv stream box does not support 4k yet. Yes it does on the apps
