ACCESSING GUIDE (LIST VIEW)

WHY HAS DIRECTV CHANGED THIS UP AGAIN?? INSTEAD BEING ABLE TO ACCESS GUIDE USING THE BACK BUTTON I NOW HAVE TO ACCESS IT USING THE BACK BUTTON AND NOW THE SLECT BUTTON HAS TO BE USED TO ACCESS THE GUIDE IN LIST VIEW!!! 

WHY IS DIRECT DOING THIS AGAIN FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW??? CUSTOMERS COMPLAINED WHEN YOU TOOK AWAY THE GUIDE FROM THE BACK BUTTON, NOW YOURE ADDING STEPS!!! 

WHY??? YOU IGNORED YOUR CUSTOMERS LAST YEAR AND YOURE GOING TO IGNORE THEM AGAIN - WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO YOUR CUSTOMERS??!!

DirecTV does not share design choices of their software for the various apps.

As an alternative, the Gemini and Gemini Air remotes have a dedicated GUIDE button.

This is a customer to customer forum. To know the "why" you would have to be an employee on their software team as design choices and such is not public, other than when an update goes live of course.

No amount of repeating "why", repeating question marks, or ALL CAPS will change the situation. Hopefully an update in the future will work better for you.

that’s only if you use their box to stream. using your TV or Apple TV or Roku device, DirecTV is ALWAYS changing up List Menu and how to access it. DirecTV Programmers think their customers can’t read so they force the ICON menu with dozens of Network Logos - CUSTOMERS DO NOT NEED THIS “FEATURE” CUSTOMERS NEED YOU TO LEAVE GOOD ENOUGH ALONE!!! IT WORKED BEFORE, YOU CHANGED IT LAST YEAR, YOU CHANGED IT AGAIN THIS YEAR! STOP!!!

Please leave toxic replies at the door. I gave an honest and realistic perspective of the situation and what help you can expect in a public customer to customer forum. So the virtual yelling and such is not being productive.

Comes down to the only way the apps for 3rd party devices (Roku, Firestick, "smart" TV, etc.) to guarantee to be designed the way you want is to be employed on the team that makes those decisions and implements them. Naturally they want to incentivize their own equipment by having certain improvements and features above the apps. Whether a true balance between those options can be found is a bit subjective.

been a DirecTV and DirecTV Stream customer since October 1996. this is the last straw. they don’t want me as a customer anymore.

Your being a customer of DirecTV since 1996 (and however long for DIRECTV STREAM) doesn't mean you have control over their design.

And saying they don't want you as a customer is a false statement. Just because they don't bend over backwards for a single customer doesn't mean they don't want to retain your business. If how the app is designed is a deal breaker for you then certainly call and cancel.

Nothing to do with a post count. I just prefer to give a realistic perspective instead of being the kind of person that only tells you what you want to hear. If you wish to ask (non rhetorical) questions and get help and guidance, the community will help where we can. If you only want to throw a tantrum because setup is not exactly how you demand then that can be done outside the forum. Either way, hope your day goes better.
