Amazon Fire will not play DirectTV content

Subscription works on PC and Apple devices but cannot play content on Amazon Fire. 

There is no option to play content. 

customer service claims there’s an “outage” but it’s been over 3 weeks?!

It’s affected all of my Amazon devices purchased over the past two years and includes the most recent release for 2023.

Puzzling. It's not a widespread issue. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the DirecTV Stream App on those Fire devices?

Yes, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the application. 

I’ve been online with customer service 3 times and they claim there is an “outage” they are trying to rectify. 

They offered a one month credit because there isn’t a fix but it doesn’t seem like there is any progress.

There is no "outage" or every Amazon Fire streamer would be screaming here. Wish I could offer more suggestions.

So the app loads and you get the guide, right? No channels load? Is the issue just on live content or indemand or both?

I get the guide and can see programs are running, however, there is not a "play" button to run the item. Channels load. The issue is for live and on-demand programming. 

Direct TV says the issue is with Amazon and that I should buy their Gemini device or Roku or anything but Amazon, but my newer TV's have Fire built in and I shouldn't have to buy another device just to play Direct TV?

No idea where they are getting that info. I have 3 fire sticks, and they are working correctly. Usually when you select a channel the content just start playing. You don't select play or nothing. The only time you would select play is if the content is paused.

Yes, that's how it works when I use PC or Apple devices, but every Amazon device loads and won't play. Direct TV says they fixed the issue and refreshed my account and to reset the Amazon device, but that does not fix problem.

Have you tried using your Amazon device in multiple locations (home and elsewhere)?

Either there is an issue with your account or perhaps something interfering with the connection where you're using it so it doesn't operate as expected.

I'm still confused.  You see the guide and you can see that "programs are running".  What does that mean?  "Channels load" ... what does that mean? There's no need to press a PLAY button when selecting a channel to view. That only applies if you've recorded something.  Can you clarify what you're seeing?

When I go to the guide, I should be able to hover over a program and then select it to play but there is no option for that on any of my Amazon devices
