App won’t work - freezes up
I am trying to watch my account in my vacation home. Loaded the app on two different TCL Google TVs and it locks up immediately on both. TVs are one year old and software is up to date. It appears I might need a different provider. Any ideas?

Get a dedicated streaming device (Roku, Firestick, etc.). The "smart" TV apps tend to be sub-standard.

Try it on your smartphone or tablet.

Maybe I should have been more specific - ideas on why it won’t work. Saying the app (Edited per community guidelines) and get another device or watch on my phone are things I know I could do but aren’t relevant to having it work correctly. The app must work for some people so why not this TV?

The "smart" TV version of the app is hit or miss. So you can try updating software/firmware on TV or reinstalling the DirecTV app. If that doesn't work than you already have your other options.
It is because of situations like this we do not suggest the "smart" TV app in the first place. Personally I view it as more of a place holder until you get a dedicated streaming device.
Sorry but there isn't much you can do to make it work on the TV itself, regardless of age or model.

Having this problem on brand new Google TV Streamer(4K) that updated itself on setup. Installed the DIRECTV app. Started it. Logged into my DIRECTV account. App brought up next screen and has done nothing else but sit there. No response to any remote control actions. Have force closed app and restarted device. All other apps working as expected.
