“Are you still there” Prompt

Is there a way to disable the “Are you still there” prompt? We leave our tv on throughout the day and would like to disable this feature. I don’t see anything in the settings that will allow me to change the settings on it so, just curious if there was a way to turn it off.

I don't know of a way to do that.

Ironically, there's another poster who falls asleep watching TV who would love it if the stream stopped after a little bit so as not to consume her metered Internet usage.

You both want the other's "problem."

Doesn't disabling he screensaver or power saving in the settings disable that "are you still there?"  I have both disabled and have never received that message.

I'm the other poster and I think my solution of a sleep timer to disable streaming would also solve your problem.  Then they wouldn't have to interrupt and keep asking if you're there.  Walla!!!  Both problems solved.

Yes, I see that their problem would be solved with the sleep timer however, mine isn’t that the device is going to sleep/screensaver it’s that the DTVStream app is the one asking if I’m still there like Netflix does. So anything that could help disable this in the app would be appreciated.

Well wouldn't adding a "stop streaming timer/sleep timer" stop them from asking?  Why ask if there's a timer?

Right, the timer would help if we wanted the stream to stop but, since we want the tv on and the streaming to continue with no interruptions, I need the DTVStream app to stop asking if I’m there after 4 hours.

A little bit of context, it’s not that I am sitting in front of the tv all day and don’t want to touch the remote. it’s that when we leave the house, we leave the tv on for our dogs and, if we’re gone for longer than 4 hours that message comes up and stops the stream. After so long of no interaction the tv and device will shut down.

Ok, how about this.  Under SETTINGS and under PREFERENCES they have a line called STREAMING PREFERENCE (or something) that gives you options something like this:

- Continually stream when in app (the ARE YOUR THERE prompt will not appear)

- Stop Streaming after 1 hour

- Stop Streaming after 2 hours

- Stop Streaming after 3 hours

Or something like that.  Would serve both of our needs.

If you’re saying that as a suggestion, I completely agree. If you’re saying that it’s already there, I don’t hav that option.
