AT&T receiver for my 74 inch TV requires a restart each time TV it is turned on
AT&T receiver for my 74 inch TV requires a restart each time TV it is turned on in order to get a full screen. Do I have the proper receiver or is my present receiver out of date?

What "receiver" do you have?
This is DIRECTV STREAM. Are you referring to old name AT&T TV or do you have a different service?
What do you mean the receiver needs a restart? What exactly happens? Describe in full (symptoms, error message, etc.).

Juniper, Not sure what receiver I have. I'm Direct stream. The box is a small black one on the back if my tv hanging on the wall. It was given to me when I moved here and signed up with AT&T. Each time I turn on that TV it takes a while to load then I get a partial small screen that doesn't change. Once I restart the small black TV box only then do I get a full screen. This happens every time I turn on the TV. There is no error message.

How long have you had Directv Stream for your TV service? It sounds to me like there is some kind of issue with your box talking with your tv. I would try a new HDMI Cable from the box to the tv and maybe even try a different HDMI port to see if that would clear this up.

I have had direct streaming service for 3 years since I moved to my present location and was given this TV box from AT&T when I signed up for service. It was fine in the beginning but for the past month or so now the box has to be rebooted each time to get a full screen. I'm beginning to suspect the cable box is faulty. Thank you for the suggestions.

Also, are you powering the device down or just turning it off with the remote?
