Just to confirm, do you mean an actual ‘Google’ TV or an Android-based TV operating system? If your not sure, post the TV model number here. I’m sure in the worst case scenario you can sideload DIRECTV STREAM onto your TV by downloading an APK online (from a trusted website.)

Thanks!  I'm looking at a TCL 65 inch Model:65R646.  It operates under the "Google-tv" platform as opposed to the "Roku" platform.   I did look up the compatible devices and "Google-tv" is not on the list.  I'm thinking I can use the "Roku Streaming Stick 4k"  to run the "Roku" platform which (of course) runs DirecTV-stream.

Why don't you buy the TCL 65 inch version with Roku included in/with the tv? Then you won't need an external device.

Good point! Price difference of $300 is the reason I'm looking at Google-tv!

Then you are going to have to also buy an external device to use Dtv Stream. If you go to Best Buy it is only a 100 dollar difference. Might as well pay extra 100 for the Roku tv since you are going to have to buy an external device with the google tv.

I think you can Chromecast it as many other apps can be cast on Google TV via Chromecast.

As you can now install the app on a Google TV, so this thread is now obsolete, and it picked up some spam, I am closing the thread.
