Commercial Break in Progress
why do i get a blue screen with the DIRECTV logo and something that says..Commerical break in progress...it is a very annoying song that plays when it comes on......

I saw a short piece of commercial then changed to commercial break thing, noticed something about location, not in my region.

It has been discussed at length in this thread and others why you see the commercial break in progress screen. For the 1000x it's b/c networks sell local ad space and sometimes those ad spaces do not get purchased/filled so that's why you see that screen. U see the same thing on youtubetv etc.

Am I the only one? I am paying for the Direct TV Streaming. I am also purchasing five of the Control Box units. I have Gigabyte Wifi and the system works fine. If I am paying for it, why does it keep asking me if I am still watching a show? We leave our TV on during the night because my wife has Tinnitus (Ringing in the ears.) and needs to the background TV to breakup the ringing sound. If you do not confirm you are watching a program, it shuts down. Is Direct TV full-time or Part-time service?

Is DirectTV Streaming a full time or part time service? I am being asked while watching a program, "Are you still watching this program?" If you do not respond with Yes, the TV shuts down. My wife has severe Tinnitus (Ringing in her ears.) and we need the TV on during the night so she can sleep with the distraction sound. Is there a way to override this unwanted option?

EACRAIG Go to "Settings/System/Display" and turn Power Saving to OFF, and see if that helps from the box keep shutting off. This is defaulted to on so people that have streaming limit and forget to stop the stream don't go over their limit.

Does anyone know the name of the song that comes on during the commercial break in progress? I see that not everyone agrees but I love it! Been trying to Shazam it for a week now and no results. It’s like some sort of uplifting piano song

The solution that "regional commercials weren't purchased" and that is why the commercial break keeps popping up is incorrect.
Before the switch from AT&T TV Now to DirecTV Stream, if you changed the channel and came right back, the commercials would play and three "commercial break in progress" would magically disappear.
With DirecTV Stream, that no longer works. (They figured a way to stop that)
Also, earlier this week, I had two TVs on and they were on the same channel. One TV went to commercial break in progress, while the other TV played commercials the entire time until the show I was watching came back on.
At the end of the day, if this LIE were true, commercial breaks would be recorded with our DVR content. Ever wonder why they don't show up???
AT&T and DirecTV are both a bunch of LIARS.

Wow complaining about being able to watch a commercial or the "commercial break" screen? That is a first, whats the big deal and who cares.
I have YoutubeTV and they also have the commercial break screen and music.

This used to happen to me when DirecTV NOW first went to AT&T NOW.
The "commercial in progress" was a well googled issue and at the time I didn't see too many happy campers resolving the issue. I did notice the issue had different timings across the US. It seems that many users experienced the issue months before me.
What I found that cured the problem for me was to upgrade my internet speed. Once I did that the issue resolved for me.
