DirectTV App goes to screensaver mode durning use on FIrestick

I am experiencing the same issue of fire stick going to screensaver when watching DirecTV Stream. 
I have disabled the Fire Stick screensaver by setting it to never but have not left it this way long enough to determine if that “fixes” the problem. 

I would prefer to not turn off the fire stick screen saver completely as it is a good flip thru of my photos when no app has been activated. 

I just spoke with Direct Tv technical support and they believe it's a software issue with app on the firestick.  Technical support was going to escalate the problem to software development.  Also turning off the screensaver on the firestick doesn't resolve the problem.  After about 20 or 30 minutes of watching the Direct Tv app with screensaver turned off the screen goes black and need to press the back button to get the program you were watching to return.
