Directv app not working on TLC Roku Smart TV

I have called tech support several times within 3 days.  Just got installation this past Wednesday.  After I click the icon for Directv

it goes into a page that at the bottom on the left it says free trial and on the bottom right it says sign out.  When you click sign out it goes into another page that ask for your ID name and password.  After you put in your password and you click sign in

it goes back to the original page with free trial at the bottom left and sign out at the bottom right.  They have had me remove the app and put it back in and this did not work.  None of the techs I have talked to have been able to resolve this problem.

One of them wanted to send me another box and told me then I would not have to use the app, but he also said the box would be another $7.00 a month.  This is not what we signed up for.  The app was to work on the smart TV and our other TV which is not a smart TV has the box.  I wondered if anyone on this forum has had a similar problem like this and how did you resolve it.

Hi @joray2srs, sorry for the trouble with the app on your TCL Roku Smart TV. When opening the app, were you prompted to choose between DIRECTV STREAM or the Satellite service? @joray2srs Resetting your username or password may fix the issue. If that doesn't work, let us know, and we'll look further into this. DIRECTV

You say you just got installation. Do you mean you have DirecTV, the traditional satellite service? I ask as techs do not install DIRECTV STREAM customers.

As a note if your service is satellite, the app will not be a replacement for a box. That is because the app will be limited in content as the service is intended by satellite with streaming only as a secondary perk.
