You need to look up how to remove apps in your TV manual. Someone had to download it from your TV app store.

DirecTV doesn't hack TVs.
Either someone in your home downloaded the DirecTV app on your 'smart' TV or streaming device (Roku, etc.). Also possible, you have a TV that is "DirecTV Ready" that has the RVU Client built in that is having a setting problem (or command issue from the remote control).
What TV do you have?
How exactly is DirecTV "popping up"?
Do you have any DirecTV service to begin with?

We have actually tried everything, We even factory reset the t v. It's a fire t v, From what I understand.. There was an upgrade that happened today. It caused this thing to appear. We have done everything humanly possible to reset it, And to clear caches and un install. It's an Insignia tv. The crazy thing is that it's like it's haunted, The remote will not shut off the tv, It turns it off and right back on. I know it sounds crazy but it's like our ghost is inside of it. We even unplugged it, The t v turns the cell phone go straight to directv. It's a nightmare

Something is seriously wrong with that TV. There's no way that the DirecTV App would cause those sorts of symptoms.

This all started after that "upgrade"? If that was a software update, then I would contact the TV maker.

No, it's not about the t v maker.. I have a fire t v. Amazon. Insignia. It's the most bizarre thing. We have factory reset everything It turns back on directv Logo pops up, It keeps asking me to download it. I swear to you it's like a virus. Everyone i have called claim that it's not their issue.

If the issue started after a software update, than there is a bug in that update. Normally the update is provided by the TV maker/manufacturer. Though with a Insignia Fire TV that is dealing between Insignia and Amazon (as Fire TV is theirs).

This just doesn't make sense. There's no way the DirecTV App could "take control" of your TV. Something bad happened with the TV's software update. That's clearly the case if resetting all of the TV's settings still doesn't fix it. The TV is broken.

Is the tv the only thing you use for streaming or do you use another device? I am asking b/c you could always disconnect the internet from that tv until a fix is issued (if a software update is the actual cause)

That we never experienced this before.. And the worst part is, you can't change to any channel because it keeps reverting back t you with direct tv, and it says you own this..download it So I will not download it..

If you disable your internet connection to your tv---that won't happen.

Has your TV been powered down recently? Your TV is possibly set to "power up" onto the directv app. Use the TV controller to reset the source selection to a different HDMI source. Then change the TV's "power up" source default to whatever you want to use when the TV is powered on.

(Edited per community guidelines) on the direct tv doesn't hack your TV. It's the only thing that kept popping up like a bad virus. I've done everything including disconnecting my internet..Now I have to reinstall all my apps and I can't get my cable box to power up so all I have is fire TV
