DIRECTV STREAM buffering
I have done all the suggested steps... deleting App, reinstalled, etc etc. and the DIRECTV STREAM App continues to buffer constantly... impossible to watch ... on all my Apple TVs (several)
My internet service is also fiber... max speed...
To test, I just signed to a trial using another streaming service. NO ISSUES! On all my Apple TVs... it buffers on all of them! I am going back and forth between DIRECTV STREAM App and the other provider to see the experience at the same time... DIRECTV STREAM... buffering... the other... no issue!
I saw in the forum this is not a new issue with the DIRECTV STREAM App... is my only option to cancel DIRECTV STREAM and go with the other provider?

DIRECTV STREAM is still in beta and not rolled out to everyone yet. National roll-out is next month. I would call DIRECTV STREAM and let them do some troubleshooting on your connection/app problem.

Hello,
I know the DIRECTV STREAM box is free with new service (first box, $120 for additional) and hasn’t had issues with buffering unless internet speed related. Apple TV is in Beta for this service and seems to have some issue buffering with all the new subscribers joining now that it’s launched in several test markets.

I have been having the same issue. I
logged into my wifi router and set a priority list for devices, and put my firestick at the top. I also took another person's advice and disabled ipv6.
So far, so good!

Buffering constantly the past 2 days. Can't even watch it but I can watch Prime and Netflix with no issues. Bill is due this week but why pay for something that isn't working. Anyone know a reliable streaming service?

I labeled DIRECTV STREAM device as priority but it hasn’t helped. Still buffering. They swapped out one box in April, now same location is having same issue again. I don’t have Apple TV’s. Visio TV

I am having same problems. Netlix and Utube are fine, but DIRECTV STREAM is maddening. I don't see a clear answer. It is only on the tv and not on mobile or computer devices.

Same issue, constant buffering. Cannot watch 5 minutes of uninterrupted TV. I have talked to support several times done all their steps, replaced the box etc. I have internet, the fastest they have and still their TV doesn't work. I can watch Prime, Netflix, HBOMAX etc with no problems. DIRECTV STREAM keeps telling no internet connection I run the diagnostic when it pops up and it tell me my internet connection is strong then goes back to my constant buffering TV. Extremely irritated. Had the service 6 months so far and problem has been consistent for 5 months the last 2 months I seriously cannot watch anything. Their latest solution was to give me a $25 credit, laughable when I pay $60.36/mo for the service and it hasn't worked in 5 months.

I ended up purchasing a Google Nest WiFi and 2 points. That has fixed the problem. Rarely see buffering and when we do we just turn the TV off and back on. We have Netflix and Prime as well.

I shouldn't have to buy additional equipment to make a service they sold me work.

Just got DIRECTV STREAM last week. Hoping to move away from DTV to a service that allows streaming to other TVs with out the cost of additional boxes. And something that I can watch local and recorded content when on vacation. Hooked it up on my 300M Internet. It has gone into buffer mode 4 times on recorded content, none so far on live. My biggest gripe is that when the buffering ends it goes back to the beginning of the recording which means you have to FF forward through an hour + of programming to get back to where you were. Very frustrating. I'm thinking of going back to YouTube TV though I like interface better (coming from DTV for 20 years). I'm paying monthly so I'm going to give it a shot, but if this continues it's gone, I'll drop DTV (not going to pay for two services) and stick with You Tube.

We’ve been trying different streaming services since dropping DTV because of the cost. We had to go with DIRECTV STREAM because they’re the only ones that carry Fox Sports North. Well it has been an extremely frustrating experience. Not only was it buffering frequently, but it was also stuttering. We never had these issues with other streaming services. My husband decided to pull the Fire stick from one of our other TVs to see if that would make a difference. We didn’t have a streaming device attached to this TV because it’s a Samsung smart TV we bought just last year. Well low and behold it worked! We can now watch live TV and recordings with very minimal buffering (we’re in a rural area with very low speed).

Always use an external device. The devices are more powerful and support more apps. They also get more frequent updates. At some point the TV makers just quit supporting in lieu of selling newer TV's (their business).

I have AT&T U-Verse 300 fiber optic with computers and TVs connected via Cat6 Ethernet cable. 300+ Gbps speeds up and down, no issues with TV or DVR.
But when streaming ESPN with a Amazon Fire box (not stick) it takes 4-5 mins for the ESPN app to load, and 1-2 mins for each selection to load. When fast forwarding a recorded ESPN event, buffering takes place each time. The Amazon Fire box is connected by Cat6. There is no WiFi involved, only Cat6 Ethernet cable.
This only happens with ESPN. Anyone know what the problem is or a workaround?
