DirecTV Stream of local stations when traveling.
Hello,
My home billing account zip code is 76102 (Fort Worth, TX). I am in Vail, CO on vacation. I have DirecTV stream but when I watch local stations on my PC, I get the 76102 local stations. When I watch DirecTV stream on my Iphone, I get Denver local stations.
Is there anyway to force my Iphone 14 stream to 76102 stations and not the Denver stations. The DirecTV Stream app won't let me turn off locations services.
Thanks

Basically no with Apple products. Apple products have location services, and thus it knows where you are located and provides local channels based on your location.

I wish DirecTV Stream app would allow the user in to override locations services in it's app so this would not happen.

DirecTV would love to allow it. Unfortunately it's not under their control but the FCC. DirecTV don't care what you watch.

Hi there, we realize you want to enjoy your local stations from Fort Worth, TX, while on vacation in Vail, CO. Local channel availability is based on your billing ZIP Code and market area. If you're going to a different place, make sure you enable location services on your mobile device so that you can stream. No way i accept this is some sort of FCC legislation mandate.
The facts are simple. My Microsoft PC can access Fort Worth local stations and iPhone 14 cannot because of location services services.
As a guy with with a computer science dregree, ATT just needs to put a new feature in their OS app to ignore the location services setting of the iPhone and allow their app ability to switch THE ATT APP between default location services of the iPhone and the location of the billing party’s zip code.

Could care less what you believe. Google and get the facts Jack. The country is divided into DMA's by zip code. And you receive content from the DMA associated with your zip code.

Local channels lobbied the FCC to ensure you only watch what is your Designated Market Area (DMA). Location services make sure that rule is followed.
You may not accept it, but this is the reality of how it works. Other devices are more loose with their enforcement, but with Apple you follow the rules or go without.
Having a degree doesn't change how it works with Apple.
