HBO Max and closed captioning
Direct TV Streaming customer here. Yesterday I ordered HBO Max service for our home TVs. Using a Samsung TV that is at least 4 yrs old, so as to give an idea of what equipment is being used. Also should mention, I have a streaming tv box for both TVs. Anyway, I use CC all the time, and it has worked on every channel flawlessly, even on regular HBO. However, with HBO Max, it appears I have to set up CC on the settings page, specific to Max. Okay, easy enough right? Well, no matter how I following the prompts, I can not get CC to work on Max. Called ATT and they said call Max, yeah right. Went to the ATT store 5 minutes from my house, no good. Has anyone run into a similar problem? I need CC or I will have to remove the Max service. Has anyone have an idea how to solve this? Has anyone gone through the same process and had success in getting CC on HBO Max? Would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, recommendations, and thanks in advance, cycler.

Hello @cycler. Let's review what we can do about the closed captions of your HBO MAX subscription.
The option to turn the closed captioning on might change depending on the device you are using to stream. Another alternative could be changing the appearance of your closed captions to see whether it helps you get them back.
We also recommend you to change the settings on your Samsung TV: Settings > General > Accessibility > Caption Settings. If all above fails, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the HBO Max to get the latest version. Finally, make sure your Samsung Tv is updated.
