Does it usually record multiple times on different channels? I have seen that before. Sometimes, when one network/station owns the rights to a show--they have exclusive streaming rights and some shows can't be recorded from other providers. You can watch live---but not dvr'd.

it only plays on ABC on my local channel where i have the recording set.

Does that restricted message happen every time you record/watch one of them?

I would contact the station. In the past I have had a local station inadvertently flag programming as restricted. After contacting the station, the issue went away.
