Missed the End of a game
I recorded the A&M v South Carolina game on ABC, and the last two minutes didn't record. This is the 3rd time this has happened, and it seems to always be games on ABC. Why can't we extend recordings like I could before I "upgrading" to this service. I had U-verse, and just always extended sports events by 3 hours. Worked great. Why are we going backwards in technology?

Hi, @louisbarrow. We're sorry the game recording was interrupted. Please note, extended sports recordings are contingent upon third-party recording service availability and vary by package, channel subscriptions & billing region. Blackout restrictions apply. Visit DIRECTV sports team recordings and live scores FAQ | DIRECTV Support to learn more. You can also record the next program that airs after the sporting event. Veilka, DIRECTV Community Specialist

The exact same thing happened to me with the Vikings Cardinals game today. Missed the end of the game. I have had DIRECTV for two weeks and this is the second time it happened. Very frustrating!

U-Verse to DIRECTV STREAM is not an "upgrade". They are completely separate services. You canceled one and started the other. Even if you had come from DirecTV (satellite) still changing from one provide to another, not "upgrading".
There are still desired features for the new streaming service that are not at the moment available. Many factors affect it such as service still growing, AT&T recently sold of their remaining ownership, and any needed permissions (from channel and sports franchise). Unfortunately existing permissions in place, such as for DirecTV (satellite) do not carry over to the STREAM service as requires new agreements.
As such, recording the program after the game is suggested as a workaround. Something in the meantime as a backup. Auto-extending recording for sports is certainly a common request, so hopefully it will come to the service at some point.
