Nat Geo Wild Channel Access
Maybe I'm missing something but is there a way to add a channel (like Nat Geo Wild) without upgrading to a different, more expensive package? We currently have the Entertainment channel package which offers everything we want EXCEPT for Nat Geo Wild. It appears that channel is only available with the Ultimate and Premier packages.
It seems ridiculous to pay an additional $40 per month to get one additional channel.

Guess that they do not offer a stand-alone subscription.

I see you can get most of the content of Nat Geo Wild with a Disney+ subscription. You might check the service out.

Nope. You can not add single channels. All streaming and cable services are like this. If you have a specific channel you require, then it may be best to investigate other options to obtain your needs.
Perhaps you might look into the app to see if they offer a subscription service, which would be a lot cheaper than swapping packages.

Thank you for your response. We are new to streaming so I wanted to make sure we weren't missing something.
I did try to subscribe to the Nat Geo app directly but it points you to a service/streaming provider which took me right back to where I started :-)

I'll take another look at Disney+. I read on another blog that Disney+ recently stopped streaming Nat Geo Wild programs.

Please bring back "The Incredible Dr. Pol"! I have enjoyed it so much and would watch it every day if it played every day. I think it's a big mistake to cancel this series.
Sincerely,

DirecTV does not cancel anything. Content is controlled by the broadcaster.

@shirlschill
Dr. Pol is a good one that my household has enjoyed. Some things I could relate to from my childhood.
The program was not canceled by DirecTV. They don't control what specific shows are on any given channel. It is up to the channel and content owners what is broadcast and when. All a TV provider does is (re)broadcast the channel as they receive it from the owners.

I apologize for my ignorance in requesting that you not cancel "Dr. Pol". Can you give me a contact # or address through which I can effectively make that request? Thank you. - Shirley Schill

On National Geographic's website they have a "Contact Us" link at the bottom. Looks like that will be your option.
Wow, 13 years having 24 seasons. Didn't realize it had been that long. Finale was back in July. Sounds like the show had run its course for overall viewership. So the owner (Nat Geo) decided time to focus on newer content. Also mentioned look for a "broader audience", guess that means at this point the show's appeal was too specific so they wanted something that would speak to a lot more viewers.
On top of that, he is in his 80s. Wonder if life catching up was part of the decision. Huge kudos for keeping with his passion that long.
