Starlink is notorious for intermittent dropouts. Some streaming services are more forgiving to these dropouts based on how much video data they buffer. Not sure what else to suggest. Perhaps someone else using Starlink with DirecTV Stream will chime in here.

Same problem here. DirectTV Stream is telling me that there is no Internet connection. Error 8003 on both- the Apple TV 4K 4th generation and Apple TV 4K 5th generation. I have tried everything from bypassing the Starlink router, using different DNS, different routers. I tried everything. All other APPs (like Youtube TV, ARD or ZDF in Germany) on the Apple 4K boxes work just fine under all the different configurations. Starlink downloads are in the 80Mbs range with uploads in the 12Mbs range. On a Verizon Hotspot, the DirectTV App works fine. AT&T must fix this or give specific instructions on this forum to fix this problem. I have no choice but switch to another TV provider.

Same problem here with Starlink. I have both- Apple 4K 4th generation and Apple TV 5th generation. Direct TV Stream does not work anymore with our Starlink system. The App is searching for a Network. My download speeds are in the 80Mbs ++ range, uploads in the 12Mbs range. Other Apps (like YouTube TV, iTunes, Amazon Prime, ARD and ZDF in Germany) work just fine under all the different configurations I have tried. I have tried different routers, different DNS, using direct connections and Wifi and bypassing the Starlink router. Direct TV STreaming will just not work. However, by using a Verizon Hotspot feeding the house, Direct TV Streaming will work fine. AT&T must fix this App.

I called AT&T today. Not much help there. They escalated the issue to higher up. To avoid being charged at my renewal date on the Sept. 24th I had to cancel my service. I requested to be informed when the App was fixed. Knowing AT&T for a long time, that will never happen. It is sad because we liked their streaming App the best. It quit totally one day ago. The representative was not able or willing to extend my service for free for a month while they troubleshoot the problem. I offered to test everything for them, but the answer was still NO. I regrettably have switched to YouTube TV for now.

My starlink Directv Stream just stopped too, happened couple days ago, has been working fine for a year. Every other streaming service is working fine with the Starlink, there is something odd going on. Even using the Roku, I can use all the other apps, but when I go to DirecTV Stream app, it doesn't work.. but if I switch the Roku over to my 5G hotspot the DirecTV works..

As these issues keep mentioning Starlink, I believe that DIRECTV STREAM is more vulnerable to any intermittent dropouts with the satellite connection. The speed may be fine, but the connection is not consistent/stable enough for this particular streaming provider. Normally I would suggest verifying their receiving dish is optimally aligned, but with other users mentioning the same issue specifically with Starlink, it may be something has changed with that provider over the last month or so.
I would definitely check with Starlink to see if something changed on their end recently. If so, it may be something that affects DIRECTV STREAM more than others. Remember though by streaming, it is designed as still a traditional TV setup with channels and not just content like Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Troy, you and Lisa confirm my findings. Thanks for the feedback. Now we must hope that AT&T reviews our posts, fix the issues and keep us informed on this channel. We have been using Direct TV streaming with Starlink for about three months when it suddenly quit. I would like to switch back. YouTube TV is good but the Direct TV app has much better recording management by allowing to erase individual recordings to avoid clutter. Their app just 'flows' better.

Juniper, thank you for the response, but it is not the user's responsibility to check with Starlink. Besides, what can we do as we are not the developers for the App? As mentioned before, all my other Apps, Internet, VOIP, Thermostat, Sonos, Garage door App, Lamp switches etc work fine, so it really is AT&T's responsibility to follow up and fix the obvious problems. They are the ones who are losing money. We are consumers and users who pay for the App. FYI, my jitter is pretty stable between 4ms and 8ms which is considered excellent signal quality with very few outages or obstructions over .5s Whatever the issue may be, it still is an AT&T issue waiting to be fixed. I will not go back to unreliable Internet Service in our rural area after getting Starlink.

As was mentioned in another post, they are aware of the problem and the developers are working to resolve the issue. I assume they are in contact with Starlink developers.

Thank you, please keep us posted bcbsncjli. I did not see a post about them working on the problem. Perhaps the developers should comment in this forum as well. I will switch back to DirectTV Streaming if I receive assurances here that the problem has been addressed.

Oh I agree. Rarely do they provide updates. It just happens if it does. Usually resolutions are reported by subscribers as it happens - unannounced.

Same issue for me.. Directv Stream worked fine for a year.. then a couple days ago.. boom, cant login, doesnt work on my TV, Computer, phone etc.. Only way to get it to work is to disconnect my wifi and use my phone hotspot.
Ive called Directv to report this, they sent a ticket. . who knows.. All I know is im paying 100 a month and no service to watch tv.. This (Edited per community guidelines)..
I messaged Starlink, but how could it be them? its always worked, starlink is super fast download..

I would demand a rebate. They give them for other actions.

Juniper, you continue to point out how the satellite communication drops things out, but while, yes, old satellite, that was a problem, but the Starlink is much closer to earth, and latency is pretty low.
also, ALL my other streaming services work just fine, there is no difference between streaming DirecTv vs Netflix, Roku, HBO, etc.. its all the same stream.. and DirecTV Stream was working just fine until it stopped a few days ago. There hasn't been any change in the Satelite connection speed or latency, and all the other aps are unfazed
The odd thing is I spent days trouble-shooting this with DirecTv Stream and ultimately they're replacing my Stream device, I don't think they recognized or asked about this Starlink connectivity issue. I didn't associate it with the starlink until I was streaming DTV on my phone and thought I'd be smart and Chromecast it to the TV.. so I turned on my WiFi, and BAM - something wrong with my video stream - lol
