Using RC64 remote on Stream receiver
The remote that comes with the new Directv Stream receiver is terrible. It seems the old RC64 mirrors everything except the FF & REV functions. If I press either, the recorded program will continue to stay in FF or REV mode and will not resume normal play speed. Is there another button that may release the FF/REV?

It's bc the RC 64 separates the play and pause button. If you hit the pause button it will play. The dtv stream remote combines the play and pause into one button. I also use the RC73 dtv remote as a spare with my stream box if I am not gonna mess with apps. RC73 also has pause/play on the same button like the stream box remote.

I couldn't get the RC72 to do anything. Maybe it is completely outdated. Never used it.

RC72 is the same as RC73. Works fine for me I just had to manually program in my tv for power/volume. But again, the reason why your RC64 seems weird is b/c the pause and play are on two separe buttons and on the dtv stream box remote they are combined on one button. If u want the RC64 to play after u ff/rewind just hit the pause button each time. Take some getting used to. The pause button on the RC64 works as both play and pause.

I really appreciate your help. I knew the new technology would drive me nuts (I'm old) but the prices for DTV were just getting too high. Thanks.
