Why does DIRECTV STREAM force commercials?
Directv NEVER had commercials on dvr content NOR had paused the abilty to fast forward/rewind on some recordings..
What a blatant money grab by now doing this to long time customers.. my family doesn't appreciate this from Directv and your new policy.. when we record from premium channels, there r no commercials so why is this now beimg forced on us.. all its going ti achieve is us cutting service as ur prices keep going up and service being altered ie now on the package we've had for yrs, all we see r Spanish channels everywhere and the loss of more viewable channels..
Directv has really plummeted to the Directv of the 2000s and even into 2010s.. not anymore..
Frustrated Customer~~~

It is not DirecTV, or other TV providers forcing the commercials. What is happening is more and more networks are locking in the commercials for content delivered from online. Since DIRECTV STREAM is internet-only, it is heavily affected by this. Traditional DirecTV though by satellite, is affected for their On Demand content as is delivered from the internet (channel's online library).
Advetisers pay the channels for their time slot. If it weren't for that, channels would charge TV providers that much more to be carried, which would be an even bigger increase to our bills.
Remember, DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM though share an owner are two separate providers. So complaints about DIRECTV STREAM (internet-only) have nothing to do with how DirecTV (satellite) has been since the 2000s/2010s.

If they share an owner, and are named the same, they are NOT separate.

@Giman43
One is DirecTV (which is by satellite) the other is DIRECTV STREAM (a streaming-only provider). They can share an owner and still be separate as they operate differently being different platforms.
Thread is almost 2 years old. Best to start a fresh thread if you are having some issue.
