My local affiliate is not playing the World Series because of negotiations on prices. But I’m paying my bills and not getting the games I’m supposed to. Time is running out… my patience is too!
Your local affiliate IS playing the World Series. What they are not doing is allowing their channel at all to be rebroadcast to you.
The carriage agreement came up between TV provider and local affiliate owner. A new deal was not reached by the time the current one ended. Your local pulled their feed as is their right. As TV providers don't own the channels, the Terms of Service have a clause that programming (which includes the whole channel, not just certain shows) can change at any time.
As such, you are getting what you are supposed to. There is no guarantee of any channel (local or otherwise) always (or ever) being there for you.
Sometimes channels pull their feed (or at least "threaten" to do so) to leverage customers against the TV providers hoping to have them cave to existing high or even higher rates. This has become more common for local affiliates. Unfortunately, theirs came up during the World Series which means they can use that to their advantage by upsetting you.
My stance is this: Why should TV providers, and we as customers as it affects our overall bill, keep paying more for channels that are still free over the regular airways? I say plug in a regular antenna to catch the regular broadcast while those negotiations finish. Might even pull up additional channels you wouldn't have otherwise as well.
I previously tried to send a better thank you for your help. I don't know where that response ended up. I just said that you gave me more information than I had received on separate forums and responses. Great help and much appreciated!!!
You're very welcome. Glad that indoor antenna is working out. Great backup for negotiations, plus can get those sub-channels you wouldn't have otherwise. Enjoy the World Series and other programming while the companies hash it out at the negotiating table.

DirecTV Stream does not black out any content. They have no reason to. If content is restricted, then it is due to the broadcaster's discretion.

@bcbsncjlj he has another post the reason he is unable to watch is that the channel is having a dispute with Directv and has been pulled.

The OP yes. But others have different comments. Either way, DirecTV Stream does not restrict any content.

The world series is on FOX, FOX is not on Direct TV? Really? Seems odd.
