Wrong local channels

have had the service for about a year and the area I am in should have the St. Louis market for the local channels. For some reason, when we got up yesterday, we now have the Paducah Ky local channels! I spent several phone calls and about three hours on the phone with various folks and they really have no idea what changed. I have even done a hard reset on one of the AT&T boxes with no help. All the boxes in the house are AT&T ‎C71KW-400. The account shows the correct zip code,. This problem not only shows up in the house boxes but on the Direct Tv Streaming app on my phone. Again this all happened over night and there were no changes made by us.  Configuration: ATT&T fiber internet, ATT C71KW-400 , ATT cell phone carrier as of March 3rd (another nightmare, should have stayed with Verizon for cell service).

Any ideas on who can fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Then that is what the FCC says you should see based on the DMA region for your zip code. Nothing you can do.

My zip code includes 4 different counties.  where do I change which county I live in?

You don't. Local channels are based on your billing zip code.

If my billing zip code has 4 different counties how do they determine which one I'm in?

Your CC billing address with the zip code. In addition, geolocation services poll the IP address and determine th location of your decise. They report these finding to DirecTV Stream who maps the correct locals based on your DMA location.

Up until 2 days ago I had the option on my guide to select which market station I viewed.  Been watching for about 2 years.  The only notices I seem to get from AT&T are rate increase notices.

Don't we all! I do know that there have been a lot of issues about locals lately. I support rep mentioned there was a update to local channels locations. Did you actually receive different channels before? If so you might want to discuss with a support rep.

I did/could receive channels from both markets.  For instance, on the guide I would have two CBS channels to choose from from two different markets.  Wasted 2 hours trying to understand a support rep yesterday to no avail.  Thanks for your input.

We try here but have no control of anything. Never seen that option because I do live in an area with split options. Good luck with your issue but you will have to go back to that support rep area again. Just understand they are only level 1 support and have limited control also.

A guy I know did and he has the right locals.

If your billing credit card is located in that area yes. But the data in their payment system must match whats on the credit card.

Now if you are using the DirecTV Stream box you can change the home location to the new home zip. But you can only make changes I think 4 times a year. This only applies to DirecTv Stream devices.

I had been getting locals from 2 different markets as well. St louis and Paducah up until about a week ago. Luckily I am getting the correct one. Having 2 sets was just a luxury in case one of the local stations interrupted for weather. I guess when they redistributed the locals that zapped me getting 2 sets.

A carrier here, not DTV, supplies customers with more than one market.

Several around the county do. But you are only legally (FCC Ruling) to receive the designated local assigned to your DMA region based on your zip code.
