For directv satellite you need an additional receiver/genie mini for each TV. There used to be a few TVs that were directv-ready but that idea was not successful.

You were misinformed. There isn't a DirecTV app for tvs only mobile devices, you need additional receivers and or clients for each tv. If you're within 14 days you can do a work order correction for ONE additional receiver if you need more than 1 additional it will be $99.00 each +tax and $49.00 new customer fee. Each additional receiver is $7.00 per month

Just curious, who told you that? They were either incompetent or purposely lied to you.

@crissshifflett

You got bad information.

DirecTV requires a receiver or client on every TV. Some "smart" TVs have a RVU Client built-in, also known as DirecTV Ready, but that requires tech install so needed to be part of your original order. It is not something you just turn on later as must be wired to the service. This is a concept that didn't do well as TV makers were slow on updates to keep up with DirecTV requirements and if ever no longer compatible you would have to get a box anyway.

And you pay $7 for each additional TV on the service regardless of how it is connected. I'm guessing that person didn't tell you that either.
