Advertising on my Directv that covers the entire screen

While watching television I keep get ads that cover the whole screen for other channels such as Hallmark Movies or CMA's etc.  It goes away if you touch the remote or push a button on the remote.  It's very annoying. …  How do I get it to stop?

Welcome to the paused program ads the only way to prevent them is to disconnect the internet from the receiver or not pause the program.

Mine is doing the same thing but it has nothing to do with 'pause' since it happens every few minutes while actively watching a show.  How do I make it stop?

Try a red button reset.

Already tried a reset and an unplug reset with no change.

Same thing happening here. Every 12 - 15 minutes, while watching a show, commercials will come on covering the whole screen. Sometimes 8-10 commercials in a row. 🤔

Ours shows the ads not only on the TV connected directly to the Genie but also on 3 other TVs connected to Minis.  Reboots have not helped at all.

Resetting your main Genie DVR might help.

It's a bug that DirecTV must fix in a software update.

As I mentioned in an earlier reply, neither red button nor unplug resets worked.

Bummer. Then it would be "solved" until they fix their software.
