BB DECA hot to the touch

Hello,

I have a question about the BB DECA getting hot. Currently have HR24-200 and H25-500 with MRV and cinema connection via BB DECA. I was at the router the other day and had touched the BB DECA and it is hot to the touch almost too hot. Is this a normal temp for this device to be running? Should I get a longer Cat5 so device can be placed on top of desk since supplied Cat5 is only 6 inches? If I replace with another BB DECA wil new one run close to same temp?
