Can you help me dcd?
I have an HR21 DVR. I am connected to the internet using a CAT5 cable from router to DVR. My laptop is wirelessly connected to the same router and I use Windows 7 Home Premium. My router is a 2wire 2701HG-B. I understand that a wireless connection makes Directv2PC studder with sound and picture, or not work at all. I have a similar problem. With some shows it works, and with others it does not. For example, I can watch Spartacus: Blood and Sand just fine but when I try to watch Gilad's Bodies in Motion it takes a long time to start and then It studders on sound and the picture does not progress forward. The same happens with Total Body Sculpt with Gilad. The message I get is the following:
THE RECIEVER IS NOT RESPONDING. PLEASE CHECK THAT IT IS CONNECTED AND TRY AGAIN.
Once this happens I close that message and it takes me to the screen where I can choose which receiver to connect to. I connect to the same receiver, since I only have one, and try again. Unfortunately, I get the same message. I don't understand why some shows I can watch without a problem, and some create such a problem to try and watch. Is there anything that you would suggest?
EDIT: I just came to an interesting conclusion. It seems that Directv2PC does not play content that is not On Demand. I tested this by trying to play other content recorded today. I got the same message as before with this content. Then I downloaded some videos off the 1000+ channels and I was able to watch them without problem. Can you comment?
