Cannot unlock online livestream on MSNBC, CNN or on DirecTV site

I have DirecTV satellite. I opened the account Aug 31, 2002, the box was installed Sep 8. The DirecTV website says I could watch online at DirecTV pre-installation but it has never worked, either before installation or after. All I get is error code 400 Bad Request (which is not included in your list of error codes) when I try to watch stream on the DirecTV website. When I go to sites like MSNBC and CNN that send me to my TV Provider and I log in on the DirecTV login page, it accepts my login credentials, but does not unlock content, it just kicks me back to 'select your TV provider' in an endless loop--whether I'm on my laptop, iPhone or iPad. I spent 4.5 hours on the phone with "tech support" and got nowhere. I was variously told it would take 30 days to work (contradicting your website which says you can watch pre-installation), or that my login email was not synched with the system, or that it was happening to a lot of people and "they're working on it" (but no specifics on what the problem was or when it would be fixed), or that it was because a lot of people were signing up (whatever) -- but no one could help me resolve the issue; I still cannot watch MSNBC livestream and I still get error code 400 Bad Request on the DirecTV website 'Watch Now' link. (Also, your website interface and UX -- especially on the streaming content page -- desperately needs a redesign, it's very outdated.) Before the Sep 8 new installation, I used a DirecTV satellite account at this same address but under another name and have logged into streaming content with the previous login credentials flawlessly. So I know it can work seamlessly.

COMPLAINT: So far your "tech support" service has been dreadful. 4.5 hours, going around in circles, agents reading from scripts and not listening to my problem, being sent to multiple wrong agents (password, login, etc) who are not the right person for the issue but having to explain everything all over to each one, but never getting to speak to anyone in the Digital Assistance center who could really resolve the issue -- it's like you have this hierarchy that you force everyone to go through -- I even was told to restart my computer and reset my DT password when my password was only 7 days old, so I did that but yeah, no --  it never solved the problem. This is so frustrating it makes me deeply, deeply regret that I ever signed up for DirecTV. This is the worst customer service tech support I have ever experienced in my entire life. Just dreadful and indefensible.

HELP: So who can help me get my login credentials accepted to unlock streaming on MSNBC, CNN, etc, instead of being trapped in an endless login loop on the 'select your TV provider' page?

Are you using the same email for the old account as the new account?  Is this only happening when you try to access these 2 content providers or is this happening with others also?  Have you tried contacting the content provider such as MSNBC/CNN support to see if they are having an issue on their end?  It might not be on Directv's end.  I had this same issue and it was the provider that was having the issue.  Because as long as you can log into Directv.com and watch content and access your account then you should be able to access other content as long as you have access to the channels in your subscription package.

No Tiger593, I am not using the same email and password as the old account, which had been my mother's account for like, 12 years. When I closed her account and opened my own (same house and satellite dish, new box, new account number, new login) I created a new login email and password. And I cannot access streaming content on DirecTV either, when I log in and click 'Watch Now' I only get a 400 Bad Request error message--I have only ever got this error message on the DirecTV website with the new login, it's not like I could stream at first with the new account and then not. And I know this is not a CNN or MSNBC issue because before I cancelled my mom's account and was using her login credentials, MSNBC and CNN played just fine on my iPhone and laptop -- until the day I changed over and started using the new login ID and password, that's when it failed on external sites. But as I said, I have not been able to watch live or streamed content on DirecTV or external sites since I created the new login ID and password -- but the old login worked perfectly until the last minute I switched to the new login. But thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.

UPDATE 09.18.22: Live streaming on external sites MSNBC and CNN (after 'choose your provider' DirecTV login) is now working as it previously had with my former account login. So my issue of being stuck in a login loop that would keep sending me back to the 'Choose your provider page' and the 400 Bad Request message I got when trying to watch/stream on the DirecTV website, both issues were ultimately resolved somewhere on the backend and after time. But my customer service experience was extremely frustrating, and ultimately, not helpful. There was also no follow up, no one called me back like they said they would. I hope customer service response gets better in future.
