CAN'T GET RID OF "VIDEO1" displayed over the normal TV picture?????

I had a DIFFERENT problem than most folks (not as bad, because the TV still displayed the picture normally)... I had to get a new Direct TV "Universal Remote" (the old one died)... and I eventually got it programed OK to the TV, DVD player, and VCR. Everything worked OK responding to the remote, but "VIDEO1" was displayed onscreen OVER the normal TV picture. It was just very ANNOYING to always be there... and nothing I tried seemed to get rid of it... UNTIL I finally dug out the old Sanyo remote for the TV and pushed the "DISPLAY" button. And BINGO!... it instantly went away! (an easy fix, if I had only known! :-)
