Can’t watch HBO on directv app

Why can’t Directv communicate  to the Directv app that I have an HBO subscription and do not need to upgrade to watch it on the app?  I have spent hours with directv reps and att live chat agents to no avail.  This can’t be that hard to fix!

Hello Bummeduser57,

I can understand how frustrating that can be, let's address your issue. After doing some research, it appears you won't be able to link HBO to your DTV app to watch your shows in one place. A workaround for this is to watch your shows through the HBO and DirecTV App separately.

Your answer makes no sense to me. As an HBO subscriber through Directv I should be able to watch HBO on the Directv app yet I am unable to. The app says that I need to upgrade my package. I have upgraded yet somehow the app is not getting the message. Same with the HBO GO app which says it is unable to verify my subscription with Directv which is how I need to sign in. I have noticed that many people are having the same problem without satisfactory solutions.
