Channel 1241 Paramount On Demand corrupted

A week ago I contacted customer support and posted this concern about channel 1241 having 927 errors when you try to watch or record certain episodes.  Not all .. so far just the Yellowstone season 5 episode 1 and 2.  Called again today. 

The rep who answered the phone said my dvr was not the right kind to watch that channel ...  which is not true. 

I can watch or record programs on other On Demand channels.

We rebooted the genie and checked my internet connection.  Tech support told me today that your "web team" had to fix this.  Don't know who your web team is or why your tech support cannot seem to fix this problem .

‘Your’ web team? This is a public forum full of customers just like you. We can’t resolve issues with on-demand programs, and nor can a DIRECTV agent. If this issue is on ONE or TWO episodes of a specific channel, it’s likely an issue with the content provider and not DIRECTV. If the usual red button reset (side by the access card or front where it says ‘PUSH’) doesn’t fix the issue then there isn’t much you can do.

On Demand comes from the channels servers not from DTV.

I did what was suggested by customer support and was told they would turn this over to their web team.  I assumed there was a fix , since they imply that when they say their tech dept will have to be involved.  If the issue is not something they can fix, it would be more helpful to simply explain that it is Paramount and not Direct tv.

That's the way it has looked since the beginning and no .. not yet.  Beginning to think nobody has an answer that is correct.   Guess we see what happens later.

On Demand comes from the network's servers over the internet instead of through DirecTV's delivery method (satellite). As such, when an issue is just with one network's On Demand, especially just specific episodes, that points to an issue on the network's end instead of DirecTV.

Unfortunately, sounds like the agent just gave you a false answer to satisfy you and get you off the phone. Their "web team" deals with the DirecTV website.

Though the episodes seem to be listed in contradiction to what @nabukl said, perhaps they were preparing the episodes for future availability but accidently made them visible and some watchable before they were to be authorized. That is something that has happened before, though don't see it happen often.

I would suggest contacting the network to see if they are having an issue with On Demand delivery or if perhaps the episodes weren't supposed to be listed at all yet.

I contacted Paramount.  It would appear that the episodes are available based on the Direct TV menu, however, Paramount said no.  Their response was:

Yellowstone Season 5 premiered on the US Paramount Network cable/satellite channel on November 13, 2022. The new episodes are now available to view through the Paramount Network app and paramountnetwork.com only. The first episode is free. You will need to sign in with a participating cable TV provider to access the remaining locked episode(s).....

So I give up.   

Each person has a different answer.

That confirms the episodes are not supposed to be listed, but are in error. So not being able to watch them is correct. Paramount is the authoritative source on the program's permission as they hold the rights.
