Channel Change Delay

I have Directv satellite Genie & it takes a few minutes to switch from one channel to another. It hasn’t always been this slow. It seems to happen when I’m watching a recorded show & change the channel. It briefly shows the channel I’ve changed to then the screen goes dark for about 2 minutes before eventually changing. This started about a week or so ago.
